Hello! I’m Yan Yan, a certified Mandarin Chinese teacher based in Connecticut. Originally from mainland China, I bring a global
perspective to language education with two Master’s degrees—one in Foreign Linguistics and Applied Linguistics and another in Management. I currently work as a substitute teacher in public schools across Darien, Norwalk, and Greenwich, supporting students of all ages and learning needs, including those in special education. With over two decades of experience in project management and mentoring, I bring a thoughtful and inclusive approach to the classroom. I hold a Superior rating in both speaking and writing in Mandarin Chinese from the American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Languages (ACTFL). Passionate about language and culture, I’m excited to be part of the CLSC community and look forward to inspiring a love of learning in my students.
